About my photos, I began to learn about photography techniques when I was. 8 years old. So I've always loved. Tak8ng photos. It's been a side hobby my entire life.
About my art, I’m very new at painting, so humbly appreciate your browsing while I’m on this journey of learning, practicing, and developing this newfound passion of painting.
About me, I have worked in the financial field for my entire career. Which meant long hours, 6-7 days a week. My financial career was the foundation used to raise three beautiful children who are now out on their own. While my children were at home, we did a lot of arts and crafts, and two of my kids are amazing artist. But I never thought about trying painting for myself. When I did schedulee free time, it was to spend it with the kids camping, going on day trips, or whatever family time in which we could invest.
After the kids left the nest, we would get together for the occasional paint nights. I discovered that I love painting! Sometimes, others at these paint nights would stop by and compliment my paintings. Once, at one of these paint nights around the winter of 2015, the event had a photo station set up so the participants could take group photos together. When it was our turn, a handful of different people passing by stopped and complimented my painting, a few asked if they could take pictures of it, including the instructor. I am on the shy side, so boy was I blushing! I was very humbled. That made my day!
That moment made me take a fresh look at my own art and wonder if I tried, could I learn?
I love painting. It is like creating music from my soul. A few years passed, and I finally reduced my work hours, bought my own beginning art kit, and started practicing painting. I am still only a weekend painter.
I graciously recognize that I am a beginner. I only joined this gallery to share my journey as I develop a better understanding of techniques and will always try to create the best work that I can.
